Agreeing to these terms

By creating a Sabinoor account, or by using the app or this site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use Sabinoor.

If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Sabinoor with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials to yourself and for activity that happens under your account. One account is for one person; a family subscription is the way to cover a household.

Please give us accurate information when you sign up — in particular a real email address, because it is how we reach you about your subscription and how you recover access.

You can delete your account at any time. This page explains how, and exactly what is removed.

The free trial and subscription

Sabinoor is a paid subscription with a seven-day free trial. There is one subscription — everything in the app is included in it — and you choose how you pay for it: monthly, annually, or as a family.

Where you are billed. Subscriptions bought on iPhone or iPad are billed by Apple through your App Store account; subscriptions bought on Android are billed by Google through your Google Play account. Those stores handle the payment, the renewal and the receipt — we never see or store your card details.

Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. The store notifies you and charges the payment method on your store account.

Prices. Prices vary by country and can change. Where a price change affects a subscription you already hold, Apple or Google will tell you before it takes effect, in line with their own rules.

Cancelling and refunds

Cancel any time from your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Because Apple and Google take the payment, they also handle refunds under their own policies. Deleting your Sabinoor account does not cancel a subscription — cancel it in the store as well.

Using Sabinoor properly

Please do not:

• share, resell or sublicense your access, or use one account across people the family plan is meant for;
• copy, scrape, redistribute or build a dataset or service out of the content in the app;
• reverse-engineer the app, or try to get at our systems, other people's accounts or our APIs outside the app;
• upload audio that is not your own recitation, or use the recitation feature to try to process unrelated speech;
• use Sabinoor to break the law, or in a way that disrupts it for anyone else.

Your recitation audio

Recitation following needs your microphone. Your audio is sent to be checked against the ayah you are reciting and is deleted as soon as the check finishes — we do not keep recordings of your voice. The written result of each attempt (the words we heard) is kept so you can see your own progress, and is deleted with your account.

What Sabinoor is, and is not

Sabinoor is a study tool. It is not a scholar, a teacher or a religious authority, and it is not a substitute for one.

• It does not judge your tajweed. It follows which words you are reciting, not how you are pronouncing them. It does not assess makhraj, madd or any other rule of recitation.
• It does not issue rulings. The AI study companion helps you explore and understand, and it can be wrong. It is not a source of fatwa. For any matter requiring a ruling, consult a qualified scholar.
• It does not promise an outcome. A hifz plan shows a projected date based on the pace you set. It is an estimate that moves with you, not a guarantee.
• It needs a connection. Recitation following requires a microphone and internet access and does not work offline.

Content and ownership

The Sabinoor app, this website, our name, our artwork and the teaching material we write are ours, and are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use while your subscription is active. Nothing here transfers ownership.

The Quranic text, translations, recitations and hadith in Sabinoor come from their own sources and remain theirs. Each is credited on our Sources & Credits page, and we use them under the terms their providers set.

What you create in Sabinoor — your progress, your plans, your attempts — stays yours. We use it to run the app for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Sabinoor running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or uninterrupted. Features change: we add them, improve them, and occasionally retire ones that are not working. If we retire something significant that you are paying for, we will tell you.

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Sabinoor after that means you accept the updated terms.

Ending access

You can stop using Sabinoor at any time by cancelling your subscription and, if you wish, deleting your account.

We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, is used fraudulently, or puts other people or our systems at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to put it right.

Liability

Sabinoor is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer law in your country that cannot be limited by agreement.
