Introduction

Sabinoor ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use the Sabinoor mobile application and related services.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, username, and an encrypted version of your password.

Learning data. We store your learning progress, quiz scores, streaks, XP, and recitation attempts to provide a personalized learning experience.

Device information. We may collect your device type and push-notification token (FCM) to deliver notifications.

Audio recordings. When you use the recitation feature, audio is sent to OpenAI Whisper for speech-to-text transcription and immediately discarded after scoring. We do not permanently store your voice recordings. OpenAI processes this data under their own privacy policy.

How we use your information

• Provide and personalize your learning experience
• Track your progress and adapt lesson difficulty
• Send push notifications (with your consent)
• Maintain leaderboards and social features
• Process subscriptions and payments (via RevenueCat)
• Improve our app and fix bugs (via anonymized analytics)

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• RevenueCat — for subscription management
• Sentry — for crash reporting (anonymized)
• Firebase — for push notifications
• OpenAI — for recitation speech-to-text (audio discarded after scoring)
• Google AdMob — for advertising on the free tier

All third-party services are GDPR-compliant and process data according to their respective privacy policies.

Advertising

The free tier of Sabinoor displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's Advertising ID to show personalized ads based on your interests.

You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads at any time from your device settings:

• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
• iOS: Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising → Personalized Ads

The Plus and Al-Ihsan subscription tiers are completely ad-free. For more information see Google's advertising policies.

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal information (email, username, device tokens, subscription IDs) is scrubbed immediately, and all remaining account records are permanently deleted within 30 days by an automated job. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics.

Your rights (GDPR)

• Access — export all your data from Account Settings
• Rectification — update your profile information at any time
• Erasure — delete your account and all associated data
• Portability — download your data in JSON format
• Withdraw consent — disable notifications or delete your account

Children's privacy

Sabinoor is suitable for users of all ages. For users under 13, we do not knowingly collect more information than is necessary to provide the service. Parents may contact us to review or delete their child's data.

Data security

• Encrypted passwords (bcrypt hashing)
• HTTPS for all data transmission
• Secure database hosting
• No storage of payment card details (handled by app stores)

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
